Clinical Comment

Lung adenocarcinoma is the most common primary lung cancer in Western states as a form of NSCLC; strong association with previous smoking; incidence + mortality decline, yet still the leading cause of cancer death in US. Adenocarcinoma of the lung originates in mucosal glands (40% of all lung carcinomas); adenocarcinoma occurs in the lung periphery in scars or areas of chronic inflammation.
