Clinical Comment

Highly aggressive accounting for 10-15% of lung cancers, rapid growth, early metastasis, usually manifests as a large hilar mass with bulky mediastinal lymphadenopathy presenting clinically with chest pain, persistent cough, dyspnea, wheezing, hoarseness, hemoptysis, loss of appetite, weight loss, neurological + endocrine paraneoplastic syndromes; primarily in elderly people with long-term tobacco exposure. Associations with spezific genes/markers are often limited to certain populations.
